This class has taught me something that I really needed a lesson in. I am struggling to learn to work together in a group of students who I do not know. We are assigned to work together in this group to complete projects, with people that we have never met and have no idea of what their schedules, work values and/or performance ideals, etc. are. I see myself as a person that is on time and hates being late with meetings, assignments, papers, and other obligatins. When placed in a group where there are other people that do not feel that same way, I get very frustrated. I feel that deadlines are the last possible moment to turn things in; others feel that the deadline is the time the assignment is due. I feel myslef pushing, getting nervous and anxious when assignments are not turned in early. Anyway, I really feel that the entire group's grade should not be based on the same product. So if I have learned anything from this class, I have learned that I do not work well in cooperative groups. I would rather be responsible for my own grade. If I make a "B" on my own, so be it. I do not want someone else's actions to make my grade low.
Another issue that I have is resenting being ignored. The concept of this class is to read and comment on the work that others are producing for the group. This, in essence, means that one is responsible for reading the comments posted and making corrections when necessary. This is not being done in all cases. When one is in a group, and has the responsibility for posting a GROUP project, it should be the work of the group and not just one individual. Comments should be made and integrated into the group's project.
All in all, I feel that this type of class is not for me.
